# Airport catalog sources

This is a curated regional catalog for Nearfare's airport search, not a global or exhaustive airport directory. The airport coordinates, codes, names, and country associations are based on OurAirports' public-domain airport dataset (`airports.csv`), available at <https://ourairports.com/data/> and <https://github.com/davidmegginson/ourairports-data>. OurAirports describes its airport CSV as a nightly updated download; the page observed for this catalog listed the file as last modified 2026-10-23. Selected OurAirports airport records were checked directly where their pages were available. Where the official airport page could not be fetched during preparation, the coordinate and identity values were cross-checked against AirportMiles' CC0 scheduled-airport export/API, which documents OurAirports as the source for those fields: <https://airportmiles.com/data> (dataset generated 2026-10-14) and <https://airportmiles.com/api>.

`city` is the human-readable served-city label for local search. `timeZone` uses conservative IANA region identifiers assigned from the airport's country/region; the time-zone values are catalog annotations, not OurAirports fields. The entries are a practical seed list around Slovenia, the adjacent Alpine/Adriatic region, Budapest, and London. Airport presence does not guarantee current scheduled passenger service. In particular, MBX is included as a nearby airport record; the catalog makes no claim that it currently has scheduled passenger flights. Use a live flight-data provider to determine active routes, schedules, availability, or prices.

No full external dataset was installed or copied into the repository; only this small curated subset is included.
